Preview  Kururin Paradise
- By Dan Doll [Editor In Chief]

Nintendo's Kururin Paradise comes to Gameboy Advance this fall.

Kururin puts players in control of a slowly spinning stick, meant to represent a kind of helicopter from overhead.

The stick constantly rotates, making the concept of navigating twisting, obstacle-filled mazes all the more challenging.

If a path bends up ward, players must wait until the stick is angled just right to quickly go through the path.

If the player hits the wall seconds are added to the elapsed time; after too many hits, the game ends.

Kururin Paradise lets players adjust the speed of the spinning stick, and throws out the occasional bumper to change the stick's direction. Changing directions helps get around bends that go different ways.

Kururin Paradise also has its share of minigames. In Kururin Fly, players control some bird-looking thing, a Kururin perhaps, as it must fly up and down through a path of spiked, twirling obstacles.

Cannon! Cannon! Cannon! is the name of the second minigame which challenges players to spin their Kururin stick amidst of sea stray bullets. Players can pick up hearts along the way to stay in the game.

In the game's final minimode Mowrin, the twirling stick is used as a lawn mower and players rack up points by mowing the most grass in a minute. To keep it interesting, the yard has its own obstacles like rocks and things and it turns out to be more fun than it sounds.

With its bright, colorful graphics, Kururin Paradise is easy to see and pleasing to the eye. But don't get too caught up in that or you won't possibly make it to the goal.
