Preview  Egg Mania: Eggstreme Madness
- By Dan Doll [Editor In Chief]

Egg Mania (the new, non-copyright infringing title for Eggo Mania) was shown in playable form at Kemco's E3 booth.

The game drops the player (an egg shaped M&M looking thing) from a hotair balloon to the bottom of a well.

The well becomes the playing field and the blocks quickly fall from the sky above.

Players jump up to grab the different shapes as they fall past and can then rotate and drop them to build a platform.

The game is a competitive race back up to the hotair balloon with the challenge coming from the speed it takes to get to the top and creating a solid platform that won't crumble to the water below.

Egg Mania is two-player and has a fun, colorful atmosphere. The backgrounds and chracters are vibrant and the animations for throwing the blocks below are interesting, if not repetitive.

Music is impossible to judge from the show floor, but if the rest of the presentation is any clue, the music will be light-hearted and fun, fitting the theme of the game.

What remains to be seen is how the game progresses during later levels and how difficult the game can be.

And for the record, we can only guess the name change was a good step in avoiding any law suits. Calling the game Eggo Mania would have surely led to court prosecution pleading, "Your honor, make them leggo our 'Eggo.'"

OK, so that's a stretch, but there had to be one last waffle pun before we let it go. We're sure you understand.

More on Egg Mania in the future.
