Preview Zoocube

Finally, there's enough information out on Zoocube to give it an honest look.
With a current release date of May 30, 2002, Zoocube for Gameboy Advance will be upon us shortly.
But until now, we've had no real way of knowing what that meant. Now we do.
In Zoocube, you take control of a floating cube. As it floats in space, you may rotate the block to your hearts content, and pull in the colored pieces that fall towards each of the six sides.
The goal is to match up colors in pairs to make them disappear. The theory is that in doing so, the animal creatures trapped within these pieces are now free to go, hence the name Zoocube.
To make things interesting, the game ends if more than five pieces are stacked on any given side of the cube. To add depth to the situation, players can use the B button to rotate a panel of stacked blocks around the cube, as well.
There's even a bomb feature that will help take out pieces should the need arise.
In order to get a good score, players must also negotiate the falling blocks into the occasional bonus item that is thrown out. There's even a bonus score awarded if players balance the cube by stacking the same number of blocks on each side.
And that's Zoocube. Presumably, the GCN version will be almost identical, and we hope to have hands-on impressions next week from E3.
