Preview  Pinball of the Dead
- By Dan Doll [Editor In Chief]

THQ is publishing Sega's Pinball of the Dead for Gameboy Advance.

The version shown at E3 featured three unique tables, each with their own theme.

One table had two playable levels with two flippers each, and a unique loop track at the top of the table.

Beyond normal pinball fare, players can get more points by rolling over the enemies that appear on the screen.

Zombie killing is fun for a while, but the real challenge is triggering special events. Patient players will be able to spell out words like VICTIM to unlock these events.

Although we haven't seen these events here on the showfloor, Sega has already promised boss encounters and battles.

Pinball of the Dead features crisp, detailed graphics that go a long way in bringing the Dead series to life on a pinball table.

The only gripe so far is the inability to launch the ball into play. Normally, players could gauge the force of the ball to try and reach specific things, but this is an action that is computer controlled.

Pinball of the Dead should be released for the holiday season, 2002.
