Preview Virtual Kasparov
- By Dan Doll
Virtual Kasparov, a chess sim from Titus, will be the first of its kind on GBA this February. The game takes its name from Garry Kasparov, arguably the greatest chess player ever. (So famous, it turns out, that he has even appeared in Pepsi commercials…)
Using the same engine as Virtual Chess 64, Virtual Kasparov is designed for every level of chess player. There are 50 chess tutorials to cater to those of any skill level.
For single play, there are 31 unique opponents, each with distinct personalities, as well as a 'story mode.' Interestingly, players can use the story mode to unlock extra opponents, areas, and games.
Chess is a game best played with two, and Virtual Kasparov allows two GBA players a chance to link up and play with just one game pak.
Titus explains that, "Virtual Kasparov is guaranteed to give hours of pleasure and teach technical chess knowledge and history to players from novice to expert."
Virtual Kasparov will arrive in February 2002.
