News   Tetris Gets Cubed
- Posted By Dan Doll, 06.27.2002

THQ ships press releases alongside game releases, and since we can't send you all copies of the game, you can enjoy the press below.

THQ today announced the release of Tetris Worlds for Xbox and Gamecube, the next generation of Tetris - one of the most popular video game franchises ever created. Tetris Worlds features all of the addictive block-dropping mayhem Tetris is known for, along with six variations of gameplay that take place in six unique worlds. Tetris Worlds for Xbox and GameCube is now available at retail outlets nationwide, along with a PlayStation 2 version shipped earlier this year.

"Tetris Worlds takes classic Tetris elements that fans love and enhances them with beautiful 3D graphics for the GameCube and Xbox," said Alison Locke, executive vice president, North American publishing, THQ. "This version is just as addictive as past Tetris games, which are the world's most popular electronic games with 88 versions available and sales in excess of 60 million units."

New modes include "Cascade Tetris," "Fusion Tetris" and "Hot-Line Tetris." Players can test their skills in the classic version of Tetris or the latest cutting-edge variations of the game. Developed by Radical Entertainment, Tetris Worlds also features multiplayer capabilities allowing up to four Tetris fans to compete directly against one another to see who can clear levels the fastest.

So now you can get your Tetris Worlds fix on Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, or Gameboy Advance.

We'll have more soon.
