News   Pikmin Promotion a Hoax
- Posted By Dan Doll, 05.08.2002

Those of you who have been checking in at Pikmin.com should be well aware of Nintendo's "Celebrate Spring with Pikmin" promotion.

Many sites, including this one, were happy to report that gamers could send away for free Pikmin flower seeds, thanks to this new promotion.

Well guess what, we've been had.

Recipients of the seed package got, as promised, a small stick to chart the flowers' growth, the pot, and even a dorky, plastic sun visor (fit with Gamecube logo) to wear while planting it.

The "it," however, is not a Pikmin flower.

Enclosed in the package is a note that says the Pikmin flowers are only available retail, and full grown.

So what are the seeds included?

Daisies.

Thanks a lot, Nintendo...

Here it is, but you can't have one.
